Demi Lovato says she won't tolerate people disrespecting her

Demi Lovato has opened up on her personal evolution when it comes to temper.

The singer infamously hit a backing dancer on a plane to North America in 2010 during a turbulent period in her life that was blighted by drugs and alcohol.

The US star told Cosmopolitan that she is now a "wiser" woman after years of reflection.

However, Lovato said that being disrespected is the one thing that may push her over the edge.

The singer said: "I'm not proud of the mistakes that I've made.

"At the same time, my past shows what I'm capable of. I'm a wiser person today. On a plane in Colombia, I probably won't hit you.

"But if you disrespect me, I can't say that I won't come at you. I'll just never throw the first punch any more."
