Demi Lovato on first crushes, confidence and her first audition

'Cool For The Summer' sensation Demi Lovato recently sat down for a quick-fire interview with MTV and opened up about her first audition, her first crush and when she first felt confident in herself.

When asked about her first ever audition, she confessed that she tried out for the children's show Barney but wasn't old enough to read so struggled to learn her lines: "It was for Barney and I didn't know how to read so the way that I would memorise the script is that my mom would draw pictures next to each line, and that's how I'd remember it."

Lovato then revealed that the first crush she ever had was on a boy who was in the fifth-grade, adding: "My first crush was on a fifth-grader when I was in kindergarten named Douglas."

Speaking about the time she first felt confident, the beauty admitted that she was always self-assured and outgoing as a youngster: "As a kid I was fearless. I think there's something that comes with confidence that there has to be a sense of fearlessness."
