Demi Lovato has 'immense admiration' for the LGBT community

'Cool For The Summer' songstress Demi Lovato has revealed that she is overwhelmed by the tragic events that took place in Orlando over the weekend and proud of how the LGBT community is handling the aftermath.

The hitmaker took to her official Twitter page earlier this morning and revealed that she has nothing but "intense admiration" for the strength shown by the community, which was targeted in a cruel and despicable attack on Saturday night:

"There are no words for how upset I've been since Orlando. I cry for the victims, ache for the families, and have immense admiration for the LGBTQ community and their resolve in absorbing this horror and uniting with strength and fearlessness. Stay strong, we stand with you."

Lovato, meanwhile, recently opened up about sexuality in an interview with People magazine and confessed that she was raised in a liberal and accepting household, which allowed her to explore her own sexuality without judgement:

"It's something I don't think needs to have a label. As humans, It's just about a connection with someone. I grew up in a home where there was absolutely nothing wrong with somebody identifying as another sex or liking the same sex. People will say, 'Thank you so much for all that you do.' And my response is: It's just something that people should already be doing."
