Demi Lovato Was “in diapers” When Her Eating Disorder Began

Songstress Demi Lovato has revealed that her troubled relationship with food and body image began when she was still "in diapers".

During an interview with American Way, she explained that her mother suffered from bulimia so she was exposed to unhealthy eating habits from a young age:

“Even though I was 2 or 3 years old, being around somebody who was 80 pounds and had an active eating disorder… it’s hard not to grow up like that.”

She also opened up about dealing with her changing body shape, adding: “When I was gaining weight because I was becoming a woman, I would look at those images and say to myself, ‘Wait, this is not what I look like. I’m getting fat on the hips and on my butt.’”

As previously reported, she also confessed that her 'fast living' style led her to believe she wouldn't make it to the age of 21: “I lived fast and I was going to die young. I didn’t think I would make it to 21.”
