Demi Lovato has taken to Twitter to express her gratitude for the support she has received following the apparent death of her father.

As previously reported, it has been widely said that the singer's biological father Patrick Lovato passed away recently.

He was believed to have been suffering from cancer.

The news was seemingly confirmed on Twitter, with sister Dallas saying "Rest in peace daddy", whilst X Factor USA colleague Simon Cowell offered Demi his support.

Whilst not referring to her dad's death directly, Lovato took to Twitter late on Sunday (June 23) to thank her fans and loved ones for their support. She said:

"I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers.. God bless you all, thank you so much."

Patrick Lovato meanwhile divorced from Demi's mother Dianna in 1994.
