Pop superstar and 'X Factor USA' panelist Demi Lovato has opened up about the very recent death of her biological father, Patrick, and revealed that she's 'handling it' to the best of her ability.

During an interview on 'Good Morning America' yesterday (June 27), the 'Skyscraper' beauty confessed that it's a difficult time and she's doing her best to cope with it:

"I'm handling it okay, my father and I didn't have the most ideal relationship."

"But at the end of the day, he's still my dad and I grew up with him and he's a wonderful person. It's difficult...I'm handling it okay."

On June 26, she took to her official Twitter page to tell her followers how thankful she is for all of the support she has received: "Even though these past few days have been difficult, I learned that I have so much support and love from my fan and that makes me so happy. Today, I feel stronger..."

While at 'Good Morning America', Lovato also confirmed that she has launched a foundation in her late father's honour that will help provide financial aid to those in desperate need of treatment.
