Demi Lovato: 'My new single is about celebrating American pride'

Songstress Demi Lovato has revealed that her forthcoming new single, 'Made In The USA', is set to be released near to Independence Day for a reason.

Speaking to 'Good Morning America' about the track, the beauty confessed that it's a celebration of being American so bringing it out around July 4 seemed more than fitting:

"It's no coincidence that it's being released before Fourth of July. I'm proud. I know it sounds really cheesy, but I'm proud to be an American. And I'm really proud of my country and how far we've come."

Earlier this week, Lovato shared her excitement at the news that the Defense of Marriage Act had been struck down in the USA and tweeted: "Gay, straight, lesbian, bi.. No one is better than any one else. What an incredible day for California AND for equality. OUR LOVE WAS MADE, #MadeInTheUSA!!!!!!! #equality #Marriage4ALL #NOH8."
