Demi Lovato: 'VMAs will be tough as I'm facing some fierce competition'

'Skyscraper' beauty Demi Lovato has revealed that while she's happy to be nominated at this year's MTV VMAs, she's nervous about being up for a prize as she will battle it out against some talented superstars.

She has been put forward for the Female Video of the Year title (for 'Heart Attack') and will compete against the likes of Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and P!nk for the award. Speaking to MTV News about being recognised, she explained that it's very daunting:

"I think that's amazing. My reaction is just so excited, it's an honour just to be nominated. And every time I'm nominated for something I get really, really excited. You never know what will happen, but I'm up against some fierce competition so I'm not getting my hopes up."

"Since I've started in this business, we've all been up against each other, and at the end of the day, it's an award. If you do win it you get really excited and you're proud of it for the rest of your life, but that's how I feel about it."

Lovato also took to her official Twitter page earlier this evening (July 18) and told her followers that she has 'already won' just by being nominated: "I feel like when you're nominated for something, you already have won. To be nominated for anything is an honor.."
