During a new interview with America's Jay Leno, songstress Demi Lovato revealed her excitement and surprise about renewing her 'X Factor USA' contract.

When asked why she is the only the returning panelist this season, Lovato explained that she was overwhelmed to be invited to remain a judge and doesn't know why they decided to keep her:

"Umm... I don't know. Because I'm a very lucky soul. I was surprised to be asked back but I had so much fun last season that I hoped I'd be asked back and... here I am!"

She was then quizzed about Simon Cowell and what it's like to work with him, and joked that this time around on the popular vocal talent show he is "even more difficult".

She also opened up about signing up to be a part of the 'Glee' cast, adding: 'I recently just started up a recurring role on 'Glee' and I will be playing Naya Rivera's love interest. I'll be doing six episodes."
