Demi Lovato: 'I can't drink casually as it just spirals out of control'

'Heart Attack' superstar Demi Lovato has opened up about the demons she has battled over the past few years and confessed that she isn't able to 'drink recreationally' as she finds that she can't control herself.

Lovato went to rehab to face an eating disorder along with bipolar disorder, but confessed to Britain's OK! magazine that she also dealt with the onset of alcoholism:

"Some people can smoke and drink recreationally. I'm not one of those people. If I do that, it will spiral out of control very quickly. I've lost the privilege of being able to drink responsibly."

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, the 'X Factor USA' judge also opened up about her drug addiction and confessed that she used to take cocaine regularly as well as drink vodka before noon: "I couldn’t go without 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes. I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep and I would do it right there."

"I was going to the airport and I had a Sprite bottle just filled with vodka and it was just nine in the morning and I was throwing up in the car and this was just to get on a plane to go back to LA to the sober living house that I was staying at… I had all the help in the world, but I didn’t want it."
