Diplo praises working with Justin Bieber on 'Cold Water' collab: 'He just killed it'

DJ and producer Diplo has revealed that working with Justin Bieber on their collaborative new track 'Cold Water' was fantastic because the young Canadian "kills it" every time.

Chatting to BBC Radio 1 for a show called DJs on Tour, Diplo admitted that it "sounds like" a Justin Bieber song and it was written by none other than British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran:

"It sounds like Major Lazer, it's got a dancehall tempo. Ed Sheeran actually wrote it with us. It's got African guitar and a kind of dancehall groove to it, but it sounds like a Bieber song. He just killed it. The vocal tracking sounds like 100 per cent Justin Bieber."

Back in March, Diplo told Ryan Seacrest that teaming up with Bieber for 'Where Are U Now' was a risky move, but one that ultimately paid off: "People just didn't understand it at all, but six months later, it became really popular but it took a long, long time for people to kind of adjust to what that record sounded like."
