Drake on 'Views': 'There's some harsh truth on this album'

Canadian hip-hop sensation Drake has opened up about his highly anticipated new album 'Views' and explained that the lyrics contain some personal truths

He told Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe that the record is incredibly honest:

"I’m a very honest person. I can’t write fiction. I can’t really do these sort of like themed story songs that are just a story about someone else I made up, it all has to directly do with me or I can’t make the music. There’s some harsh truth on this album, but at least it’s truth. People have to respect that, right?”

Drake, meanwhile, announced at an album launch party last night that the offering shifted over 600,000 copies during its first 24 hours of release via Apple Music and iTunes. He told the crowd: "I got a text message that we sold, like, 630 thousand-something records in one night, so that's the first album that's ever done that shit, so thank you very much."
