Drake praises himself as the "first person to successfully rap and sing"

Canadian sensation Drake has opened up about his signature style and revealed that he thinks he's doing something ground-breaking with his music.

In an interview with The Jewish Chronicle, the 'Take Care' hitmaker explained that his sound is different to that of any of his contemporaries, and he's set himself apart with his ability to both "rap and sing":

"There were people who incorporated melody before me, but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing. Yes, there are aspects of it that are new in the rap world. But it's not a gimmick. I just sort of exist and people embrace it."

He also added that he never plays up to a stereotype and has remained true to himself throughout his phenomenal career, making no compromises:

"I'm one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day. It doesn't take me six hours to get ready and I don't have to wake up in the morning and remember to act like this or talk like this. I just have to be me."
