Drake bags 12 BET Award nominations

Drake looks set to be the pick of the bunch at this year's BET Awards.

The rapper has been nominated for 12 gongs at the ceremony, which is taking place in Los Angeles on June 30.

He is up for awards such as Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Video of the Year, with a total of five nods in the latter category.

Drake also dominates the Best Collaboration section, where he is nominated four times.

Other notable nominees include Chris Brown in the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, with the 'Don't Judge Me' man scheduled to perform on the night.

Beyoncé will battle the likes of Rihanna and Alicia Keys in the Best Female R&B/Pop artist, whilst The Throne and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are up for the Best Group prize.

Azealia Banks and Kendrick Lamar meanwhile will vie for the Best New Artist prize alongside Joey Bada$$, Trinidad Jame$ and The Weeknd.

In the Best International Act: UK category, Marsha Ambrosius, Estelle, Labrinth, Rita Ora, Emeli Sandé and Wiley are nominated.
