Drake confirms new album's release date

Canadian rap sensation Drake has confirmed the release date of his long-awaited forthcoming new album, 'Nothing Was The Same'.

Writing on his official Twitter page earlier this afternoon (June 22), the 'Take Care' star explained that it will be out at the end of the summer: "N O T H I N G W A S T H E S A M E - S E P T E M B E R 1 7 T H"

Speaking to the U.S edition of GQ magazine recently (photos from the shoot can be seen below), Drake confessed that in order to make finishing the record his main focus he has decided to steer clear of casual sex as it can be very distracting:

"You know the way fighters don't f**k before the fight? Sometimes I feel like I'm so focused on training my body and getting my mind right to create this album that sex isn't one of my main priorities. If someone is around that I know and trust, I'm down. But I'm not going to end up with some stranger at this party."

Prior to making the album release date announcement today, Drake also posted a link to his social networking sites that was accompanied with the caption: "Would You Like Some Music?"
