Drake explains new album's artwork: 'It's about clarity and looking back on my life'

Canadian rap superstar Drake has opened up about the eye-catching artwork that graces the cover of his new record, 'Nothing Was The Same'.

The design was created by artist Kadir Nelson and shows a very young portrait of drake sitting opposite a present day likeness, and he explained to MTV News that the aim was to capture his journey and the space between the two points:

"It's a child version of myself staring at myself now. Sometimes when I try and think back on this journey, it's so hard to pinpoint all of these moments and it gets foggy."

"Even on past albums when I've been trying to tell this story, I've got there, but maybe not got there all the way. And what that album art is to me is, like, this is my most clean, concise thoughts from now, and my best recollection of then. That's really what that cover's about."
