Ed Sheeran extends UK tour and reveals excitement over amazing ticket sales

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has spoken out about the overwhelming response to the sale of tickets for his upcoming UK headlining tour.

The 'Lego House' star is due to head out on the jaunt in October, and the tickets went on sale earlier today (January 10) but have been selling so well that Sheeran has now extended the tour with a series of new concert announcements.

He initially added one more date to the list of shows, but now has confirmed more gigs and took to his official Twitter page this afternoon to thank his fans for being so eager to attend the events: "More dates added for the UK and Ireland tour. check my profile photo for dates and shout @StuartCamp for details. For my first UK arena tour on sale I'd say its going well so far. thank you everyone whos got tickets x."

The new dates are October 15 in London at the O2 Arena, October 22 in Nottingham, and a Halloween concert on October 31 in Glasgow. Tickets for these newly added shows are now on sale. Sheeran recently told Capital FM what his fans can expect from the new tour:

"There's going to be no bands, no back dancers, no backing singers, no flames, no fireworks - just me with an acoustic guitar for two hours hopefully playing songs that people know."
