Ed Sheeran gets lizard tattoo in honour of new album

Ed Sheeran is had a lizard tattoo inked on himself in honour of his upcoming new album.

The British singer-songwriter is due to unleash the follow-up to his 2011 debut '+' this year, but little details are forthcoming about it yet.

However, his tattooist Kevin Paul has revealed that the 'Lego House' man has started getting pieces of body art inked that refer to the new record - and one is a lizard.

He told Bang Showbiz: "He's getting another sleeve done with inspiration from his new album. The left arm is done and we are working on the right one. He had a teddy bear a couple of weeks ago, because he was called 'Teddy' at school. He's also had a rose done, and a lizard, which was to do with his new album. There's loads we're working on now."

Paul also revealed that he has heard the new record and that one song is called 'Tenerife'. He added:

"I've heard it [the new album], it's really good. There's a song called 'Tenerife', that is my favourite song. This year is definitely going to be his year."
