Ed Sheeran says 'Sing' is about someone he met in Las Vegas

Ed Sheeran has opened up on who he is singing about in his latest single.

The Brit unleashed the tune 'Sing' earlier this week online and on the radio.

The lyrics speak of sitting with a woman for the whole night, "ignoring everybody here".

Speaking on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Sheeran said that he felt his new album 'x' was often sometimes too open.

He said: "It’s a very honest album, I guess. Any time I went through anything I felt I needed to get off my chest, I put it in a song. It’s just a way to get over things."

When asked who he was referring to in 'Sing', Sheeran replied: "Someone I met in Vegas. It was last summer. We went out for food afterwards...sushi."

'Sing' is due to be released in the UK on June 1 and 'x' will follow on June 23.
