Ed Sheeran announces UK and European tour support act

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has confirmed details of the support act who will open for him on his upcoming UK, Irish and European tour dates.

Writing on his official Twitter page this afternoon, the 'Lego House' hitmaker explained that he will be bringing Saint Raymond along for the string of shows: "Happy to announce that my support act for the UK, Ireland and European arena tour is @Callum_SR, download his chunes, see his gigs, enjoy!"

"Follow him, check out Saint Raymond on iTunes and go to his gigs @Callum_SR, gonna be a fun tour innit."

Saint Raymond is a Nottingham-based musician named Callum Burrows and his song 'Everything She Wants' was named BBC Radio 1's Track of the Day yesterday.

Sheeran's 2014 headlining tour will kick off on October 11 in Leeds and will visit a number of cities around the UK before it comes to a close on October 30 in Glasgow. He also recently explained that there will be no smoke and mirrors on this new run, and it'll be very stripped-back and purely about the music:

"There's going to be no bands, no back dancers, no backing singers, no flames, no fireworks - just me with an acoustic guitar for two hours hopefully playing songs that people know."
