Ed Sheeran: 'I felt better after writing a song about getting cheated on'

British hitmaker Ed Sheeran has revealed that his song 'Don't', which he recently admitted is about being cheated on by someone he once dated, wasn't intended to make his new album's final cut but his team persuaded him to include it.

During a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the superstar explained that the track was cathartic to write and he loves to use songs as a way to get his emotions out although he still hasn't revealed who he wrote it about:

"You know what, with that song it was just that I'm quite a happy, carefree guy and I feel like everybody goes through things and gets angry, and I feel that the way I get my anger out is to write songs and that song was literally that I felt something, I put it down and I felt better afterwards."

“I wasn't going to put it on the record, then people kept telling me it was an alright song. So it ended up of the record, but yeah that one is a bit personal."

Earlier this afternoon (May 20), Sheeran explained that the highly anticipated music video for his latest single, 'Sing', will premiere: "Sing video is coming Thursday, watch out for it x"
