Ed Sheeran has offered his thoughts on Instagram.

The photo sharing website and app has become hugely popular over the last couple of years.

However, it seems 'Lego House' hitmaker Sheeran isn't such a big fan of the service, which has given rise to the selfie.

When played a word association game with Buzzfeed, the singer-songwriter said after seeing the term 'Instagram':

"Pointless selfies that no-one but the poster wants to see."

The musician meanwhile is currently promoting his upcoming new album 'x', which will be released in the UK on June 23.

The record will be preceded by the single 'Sing' on June 1.
