Ed Sheeran leading midweek UK albums chart

Ed Sheeran is set to spend another week at the top of the UK albums chart.

The singer-songwriter's latest record 'x' has already lorded over the country for five weeks and the Official Charts Company say he is likely to spend a sixth week at No.1.

The album today (July 23) is 8,000 copies ahead of La Roux's new entry 'Trouble In Paradise'.

At No.3 on the midweek update meanwhile is Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour', whilst Dolly Parton's 'Blue Smoke' retrospective is No.4.

Rounding off the top five is George Ezra's non-moving 'Waiting On Voyage'.

Prog-rockers Yes are a new entry at No.10 with 'Heaven and Earth' whilst King Creosote's 'From Scotland With Love' is No.15.
