Ed Sheeran admits label were 'very annoyed' by success of One Direction collaboration

Ed Sheeran has revealed that his record label were "very annoyed" by the success of his One Direction collaboration 'Little Things'.

The Brit helped to write the song for the boyband and the tune reached No.1 in the UK in 2012.

The 'x' star has written another track for One Direction's forthcoming album 'FOUR', but he told Nova FM this week that his label initially told him not to contribute another song to the group.

Sheeran said: "I wasn't going to do it again because my record label got very annoyed that my first number one was a song I gave to somebody else and they were like, 'Don't do it'.

"But I did Britain's Got Talent and Simon Cowell...mentioned it...and then the next day I was in Copenhagen and I just got an idea and I went in the shower room, where it's big and reverberative and wrote it and I was like, 'That sounds like a song that would be perfect for them', and sent it across. It's one of these songs that I wouldn't have used for myself; it was written specifically for them."

One Direction's new album 'FOUR' will be released on November 17.
