Ed Sheeran has revealed that he plans on entering the Christmas No.1 market this year.

The singer-songwriter told the Daily Star Sunday that he recently penned a festive song, which could be released in December.

The Brit said: "I wrote a Christmas song the other day, which will hopefully end up as a Christmas single."

Sheeran meanwhile added that he has also written material for a new project featuring Rudimental and The Game.

He revealed: "The Rudimental and The Game record will definitely come out but The Game is between record labels at the moment. Rudimental need to mix it as well and they’ve been working on their album.

"It’s going to happen, just not this year."
