Ed Sheeran's latest record is the new favourite to top the UK albums chart at Christmas.

The singer-songwriter unleashed 'x' in June and it was recently confirmed to have shifted a million copies in the UK.

William Hill have revealed that the news has sparked a flurry of bets placed on the record being this year's Christmas No.1 album.

It has odds of 5/4, with Take That's newly released 'III' the second favourite with odds of 11/8.

Other names in the mix include One Direction's 'FOUR', McBusted's self-titled debut and AC/DC's 'Rock or Bust'.
