Ed Sheeran has revealed that his latest album has just broken the three million sales barrier.

The singer-songwriter unleashed his second effort 'x' in June and he took to Twitter today (December 5) to reveal news about its new milestone.

He posted after learning that the album has been nominated for the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy.

Sheeran wrote: "Grammy nom and my album multiply has sold 3 million worldwide as of this morning. Good start to the day, thanks for all the support and love."

The 2015 Grammys meanwhile will take place on February 8.
