Ed Sheeran triumphs in Digital Spy's 2014 Reader AwardsBritish singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has been named the winner in many of Digital Spy's 2014 Reader Awards categories. The superstar won Best Song for 'Thinking Out Loud', beating the likes of Ella Henderson with 'Ghost' and Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off', he also came out on top in the 'Best Album' category and went onto win the Best Solo Artist title. One Direction, meanwhile, topped the Best Group poll despite being up against the likes of Coldplay and rock act Foo Fighters. Taylor Swift won the Best Female Solo Artist gong after going head-to-head with Katy Perry, Sia and Lana Del Rey for the honour. Sheeran recently opened up about his Christmas plans and confessed that just being at home with his family is a gift enough: "We haven't done presents in a while. That's the thing, we don't [do presents]. It's more... I mean, I do presents for my family - but I don't necessarily get presents any more. It's more just me being there, that's my present. Like having time off." Best Song Follow us: @Pressparty on Twitter / Pressparty on Facebook. Watch Sheeran performing live here:
