Ed Sheeran is set to perform a new track at the Brit Awards this week.

The singer-songwriter is due to take to the stage at the ceremony at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday (February 25).

Speaking to The Sun, Brits chairman Max Lousada said that Sheeran will surprise viewers with a fresh tune.

He said: "Ed is going to give an exclusive performance of a new song at the Brits. It's going to be great.

"I want the Brits to be about exclusive performances of new material, not just a reflection of the super smashes of the past year. We're going to balance a bit of both."

Sheeran meanwhile is due to release the reworked Rudimental collaboration 'Bloodstream' as his next single.

The track will be unleashed in the UK on March 29.
