Ed Sheeran has revealed that he is currently single.

The singer-songwriter had been dating Athina Andrelos since last year.

However, he confirmed in a radio interview with Australia's KIIS 1065 that he is a free man again.

Sheeran was asked if he was "still single", with the musician saying that he was recently in a relationship.

He then confirmed that it was over before adding:

"That's interesting. That's the first time I've spoken about that."

Sheeran's 2014 record 'x' meanwhile recently sold its two millionth copy in the UK.

The album features the hit singles 'Sing' and 'Thinking Out Loud'.
