Ed Sheeran: 'I like all of my tattoos - even if you think they're weird'

Earlier today, Keane frontman Tom Chaplin slammed Ed Sheeran's latest tattoo and referred to the design as "really bad" on social media

Sheeran is halfway through getting a huge likeness of a lion inked across his chest thanks to artist Kevin Paul and told the singer that it's no big deal if he doesn't like it because it's not his body to decorate, tweeting: "I like it and that's the only opinion that matters."

He posted the following message on his Twitter page this afternoon: "All this kerfuffle over a tattoo. If it was black and white saying a clever phrase in a language I can't speak no one would've said anything. It's not the first weird tattoo I've got and it won't be the last, but I like all of them. I'm also eating a bowl of pasta now so byeziez."

The 'Thinking Out Loud' superstar, meanwhile, will receive an honorary degree from his home county later this year for his outstanding contribution to music. He revealed his pride at the news in a statement, which reads:

"Suffolk is very much where I call home and I'm always welcomed back and get so much support. Receiving this recognition is a real privilege. UCS is at an exciting point in its development and I look forward to building links with UCS and its students in the months and years to come."
