Hitmaker Ed Sheeran has revealed that he recently purchased an apartment in central London for his parents as a Christmas present. 

Speaking to Britain's The Sun newspaper, the superstar confessed that he bought his parents the perfect gift that will allow them to see him more: “I bought them a flat. They already have a house. I got them a flat and a car in London so they can stay there. It’s opposite me as well."

"My thing is, I bought a house about a mile away from them where we live in a countryside, and I bought a flat and a house pretty much opposite each other in London. So when I have kids, when they start getting a little bit irritating, I’ve got the grandparents there."

Earlier in December, Sheeran told his followers that he will be taking a significant break from social media: "I'm taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while. I've had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I'm taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I've missed."

The 'Thinking Out Loud' star added: "To my family and friends, if you love me you'll understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I've made thus far. See you all next autumn."
