Ed Sheeran to auction off his own artwork for cancer charity

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who is currently enjoying some well-deserved time off, has contributed a hand-drawn picture to an auction put on by Art for Cure's Make Your Mark that will help raise money for the fight against breast cancer.

Dame Judi Dench, Mark Rylance, Nick Clegg, actor Jim Broadbent, Delia Smith and sports star Andy Murray also donated unique pieces of specially created artwork for the cause. Sheeran's offering, which is a a cute drawing of a cat, can be seen below.

The auction was set up by Art for Cure, which is a high profile exhibition of work done by 80 artists and sculptors who donate a percentage of their proceeds to help fight breast cancer. Founder Belinda Gray explained that she's proud to have such influential names involved because it's such a worthwhile cause and one that constantly needs to be talked about:

"Having experienced breast cancer myself, and seeing my dear friend Sally go through it, I can’t stress how important it is that we help to fund research into this disease and make sure that future generations don’t have to experience what we have.”
