Bridget Jones director praises Ed Sheeran's cameo

The director of Bridget Jones's Baby has praised Ed Sheeran's acting abilities after he filmed a cameo for the movie.

The singer appears briefly in the new flick in a bar, while main character Bridget Jones is also serenaded by him.

Speaking to WENN at the London premiere of the film on Monday (September 5), director Director Sharon Maguire said Sheeran is the full package.

She said: "He can [act]! He can sing, he can act, a very decent human being, lovely to everyone on set.

"We all fell in love. I'm sad he's not here tonight so I could get a dance!"

Actress Renée Zellweger, who plays Bridget Jones, added: "That [scene] was kind of fantastic.

"He's a very special person. So talented, no audio tune there, that guy's got the chops."

Bridget Jones's Baby meanwhile will hit cinemas on September 16.
