Ed Sheeran plots 2014 album release

Ed Sheeran has admitted that it will be at least a year until he brings out a new album.

The singer-songwriter released his debut record '+' in 2011 and it has gone on to achieve huge success both at home in the US.

Naturally, a lot of attention has been placed on his follow-up album but Sheeran told The Sun that because of touring commitments, fans won't be likely to hear new material until 2014 - despite the fact that he has written nearly 30 songs.

The 'Lego House' star said:

"I'm on tour until September and this tour is so long I'll need a break afterwards."

Sheeran continued: "I've written 26 songs for the new album but it won't be released until early 2014 at the earliest."
