Last night (March 13) was the first show on Taylor Swift's lengthy 'Red' tour and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has signed up to open the extensive run of shows.

They performed in Omaha, Nebraska yesterday evening and during Sheeran's supporting set, he tried to jump between two front of stage speakers and fell face first onto the floor.

Despite his near accident, the show went well and songstress Taylor Swift tweeted an entertaining message relating to the concert using a photograph of her cat to illustrate her point: "So I get home and I'm all "That was an AMAZING crowd!" And she's all... (see photo below)."

The 'Lego House' superstar also shared a snapshot from the first night's gig (pictured below) and uploaded the image to his official Instagram page.
