Ed Sheeran: 'Director Peter Jackson and I swapped presents'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that while in New Zealand, he was lucky enough to meet 'Lord of the Rings' director Peter Jackson and was given a special present by the superstar.

During an interview today (March 29) with Live! with Kelly and Michael in the USA, the 'Small Bump' musician explained that Jackson gave him a prop from 'The Hobbit', which blew his mind:

"That was probably the coolest day of my career. Like when musicians meet other musicians, there's always that bit of like, 'Oh, cool,' but you never really get starstruck that much. But meeting Peter Jackson was probably the coolest thing."

"He took us (Sheeran and his encourage) out for dinner, gave me a sword, which was cool. It's a real sword, it was one of the props (from The Hobbit)... I gave him a guitar. Well, I gave his daughter (Katie) a guitar."

Sheeran, meanwhile, is currently on tour supporting Taylor Swift through North America and they will perform at the Prudential Center in Newark, NY tonight before moving on to Miami in April.
