Ed Sheeran admires Taylor Swift's 'dry' sense of humour

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that he gets on so well with American superstar Taylor Swift because she has the kind of sense of humour that he's used to being from the UK.

Speaking about the close bond they've developed while touring across the USA together, he told E! News that she understands sarcasm and they find the same things entertaining:

"She's just dry, she has a very dry sense of humor and Americans are usually like slapstick comedy, that's the big thing but she's very English. She's like 'The Office'. English 'Office', not Steve Carell—Ricky Gervais."

When asked if he's still enjoying opening for the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' beauty's 'Red' tour, Sheeran added: "It's been fun. I've had a cool year. I spent nine months of in in America—well, eight months going on nine—it's been fun."

Sheeran also recently won a trophy at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards and picked up the Best Breakthrough Artist title. Writing on Twitter, he revealed his excitement at the win: "Thank you to everyone who voted for teen choice, I won best breakthrough. Awesome sauce."
