Ed Sheeran announces Madison Square Garden show

Ed Sheeran has confirmed plans to play a massive show at Madison Square Garden in the US.

The British singer-songwriter will perform at the New York venue on November 1.

He revealed the news on Twitter, writing: "I am playing madison square garden on november 1st.. Stay tuned for more details.."

Sheeran later tweeted: "My dad always said you haven't made it til you've played MSG so it's a massive honour. Presage being announced today. Love you all. MSG (sic)."

The 'A Team' man has been busy this year building on his US fanbase as he supports Taylor Swift on her gargantuan 'Red' tour.

However, the Madison Square Garden date will be one of the singer's biggest ever headline shows so far, with the venue holding 18,200 people.
