Ed Sheeran hosts intimate Halloween concert in Gingerbread Man costume

Last night (October 31), Ed Sheeran treated 200 lucky fans in Manhattan to an intimate Halloween gig and dressed as the Gingerbread Man for the occasion.

He announced details of the special concert, which was held at New York's Mercury Lounge, earlier this week and told followers that if they planned to buy tickets, they would have to attend in fancy dress.

Writing on Twitter before his set yesterday, Sheeran confessed that he was excited: "Playing a headline show at the mercury lounge tonight to 200 people. Did my first New York gig there 18 months ago, can't wait."

He then uploaded a snapshot of himself in costume and went all out (pictured below), wearing an adult-sized full body costume of the Gingerbread Man.

The 'Lego House' hitmaker will perform later tonight at Madison Square Garden and tickets for the event sold out in just three minutes when they originally went on sale earlier this year.
