Ellie Goulding's 'Halcyon' returns to the top of the UK album chart

Ellie Goulding is back at No. 1 in the UK album chart.

Goulding’s ‘Halcyon’ LP was dislodged from the top spot last week by Bruce Springtseen, but the British singer has reclaimed the No. 1 position by outselling The Boss by around 5000 copies in the past seven days.

After one week at No. 1 Bruce Springsteen’s ‘High Hopes’ has now slipped to No. 2.

This week’s top five is completed by a non-mover from Beyonce with her self-titled visual album, a new entry from Sophie Ellis-Bextor with ‘Wanderlust’ at No. 4 and a climber from Avicii with ‘True’ advancing one spot to No. 5.

Aside from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, other new entries to the album chart come from Warpaint with their eponymous second LP at No. 9, Mogwai’s eighth record ‘The Rave Tapes’ gives them their highest charting album yet at No. 10, and a Best Of collection from Mike & The Mechanics titled ‘The Singles – 1986 – 2014’ at No. 18.
