Ellie Goulding on Dougie Poynter romance: 'TV shows are a great debating point for us'

Songstress Ellie Goulding has confessed that her boyfriend, McFly's Dougie Poynter, has a completely different taste in television shows to her and they tend to squabble over what to watch.

The Sun quotes Goulding as admitting that there's one show she loves that Poynter refuses to give a chance: "He will not watch 'Geordie Shore' and I absolutely love it so that's been a big debating point for us. He just doesn't get why I find it amusing but he's right into 'Game of Thrones'."

Last month, Goulding told Alan Carr on 'Chatty Man' that she was friends with Poynter for a long time before they eventually started dating: "Err, he's my man friend. Boyfriend traditionally. He's a very lovely human being. We were sort of friends for quite a long time."

Back in April, the 'Starry Eyed' beauty explained to Cosmopolitan magazine that she is perfectly happy being single because she has learned not to put men on a pedestal:

"I [used to] put men on a pedestal. I decided to remedy that, and that’s why I’m single now. They’d be everything [but] I’ve realised I don’t need a guy. I’ve got amazing, awesome, stupid friends in the best way possible."
