Singer Ellie Goulding has revealed that when she first started to become successful she really struggled to get her head around the new lifestyle and relied on drinking to keep her feeling calm. 

During an interview with Refinery 29, the beauty revealed that she went through a really difficult time when she first found fame and ended up turning to alcohol:

"I went through a phase of being on tour and having a really hard time and not being home, and even just struggling with having a number one song... That was a time when I couldn't deal with anything. I was drinking, and I was not really myself. It's only when you come out of that phase you realise you were in trouble..."

Goulding went onto add that now that she's not in that place anymore, she understands how close she was to burning down the house she built: 

"Now that I'm not in trouble, it makes it more obvious just how close I was to losing it all. Luckily I never got to that point."
