Ellie Goulding: 'My new single isn't a response to Ed Sheeran's 'Don't''

Songstress Ellie Goulding has confirmed that her new single 'On My Mind' isn't a response to Ed Sheeran's 'Don't'.

Sheeran's track 'Don't' was supposedly about when Goulding allegedly cheated on Sheeran with One Direction's Niall Horan while they were all staying at the same hotel. Now, the lyrics to her new offering seem to tell a story, but she was quick to tell MTV News that she didn't write it with anyone in mind.

Her lyrics are as follows: “Next thing that I know, I’m in a hotel with you/ You were talking deep like it was mad love to you/ You wanted my heart, but I just liked your tattoos.”

Speaking to MTV News about the speculation, Goulding admitted: "I’m sorry to all the people that want it to be about someone — it’s not, it’s like a myth. I like guys with tattoos, my boyfriend has tattoos…but I don’t mind. People can read into it however they want. It’s fun to do that, I would do that too."
