Ellie Goulding knew Sam Smith had recorded Bond theme 'ages ago'

'Starry Eyed' hitmaker Ellie Goulding has revealed that she knew Sam Smith was singing the theme for the upcoming new James Bond film 'Spectre' a while ago.

Smith did well at diverting the media's attention away from himself and onto Goulding after suggesting she would be great at singing the theme, but she has now revealed to Heat Radio that he let the cat out of the bag ages ago:

"I knew a while ago. I've written with Jimmy Napes and he was not supposed to tell me but he did. He kind of let it drop because he is not good at lying. So I knew for ages! I decided to not acknowledge [the speculation], which I thought was okay considering I didn't place the rumour in the first place."

Goulding went onto add that she tweeted the words "live or let die" recently and people began assuming that she was going to be singing the new theme: "I thought it would just go away - and then I innocently tweeted 'Live and Let Die', which I didn't even know was a Bond song."
