Ellie Goulding has previewed material from her forthcoming album in a new trailer clip.

The British singer announced on Monday (July 30) that her forthcoming album would be called 'Halcyon', with a release date of October 8 planned.

It's the first batch of new material the singer has released since her 2010 effort 'Lights', which was unleashed to positive reception. 'Lights' reached No. 1 in the UK albums chart, and No. 22 in the American Billboard Hot 200 chart.

Goulding, who is dating dubstep dynamo Skrillex, has now unveiled a two minute long teaser clip for her album, which features sections of her new songs.

The blonde haired star is seen in numerous shots singing and smiling as she prepares for the release of her new album.
