Ellie Goulding working on guitar led film soundtrack

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she is writing songs for a Hollywood film soundtrack.

The singer, who is currently No.1 in the UK singles chart with 'Burn', told the Daily Star that she is looking up to folk icons Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake for inspiration.

Whilst the British star is more noted for her pop and electronic leanings, the music looks set to focus on Goulding's talent with an acoustic guitar. She said:

"The story is based in North Carolina. It’s using Joni Mitchell, Bon Iver and Nick Drake as a guide soundtrack at the moment, but I’m writing new songs for the movie. This will maybe show more of the guitar side of what I do."

Goulding meanwhile has added three extra UK dates to her tour schedule, with the singer playing arena shows in Nottingham, Liverpool and London in March.
