Emeli Sandé calls for more songwriting on TV talent shows

Emeli Sandé believes there isn't enough songwriting on TV talent shows.

Programmes like the X Factor have produced some big names over the last number of years, but the Scot believes that they are falling short in terms of utilising writing talent.

She told the Radio Times: “I just wish there was more [new] songwriting on those shows. And when they exploit dreams, that’s heartbreaking.

“That’s what p***** me off. Don’t do that to people just so we can watch it on TV.”

However, Sandé added: "If people get a chance to do something they dream of, you can’t be snobby towards that."

The 'Clown' star meanwhile was linked with becoming a judge on The Voice when Jessie J quit in 2013.
