Emeli Sandé's debut album nearing 100,000 sales in first week

'Heaven' songstress Emeli Sandé is very close to having sold over 100,000 copies of her debut album, 'Our Version Of Events', in its first week of release.

The Scottish star, who was recently named the winner of the 2012 Critics' Choice BRIT Award, entered the midweek albums chart at No.1 and Music Week have now confirmed via The Official Charts Company that by the end of last night (February 17) she had shifted in excess of 85,000 copies.

Lana Del Rey's major label offering, 'Born To Die', was the first record this year to have sold over 100,000 copies in the first week and Sandé is set to follow in her chart-topping footsteps.

Sandé also recently revealed that she is set to head over to America in March to play to audiences there in order to raise her ever-growing profile.
