Emeli Sandé: 'You won't see as much of me this year'

'Next To Me' songstress Emeli Sandé has admitted that after enjoying an incredibly successful 12 months as a singer and musician she plans to go away for a while.

The hitmaker received multiple nominations for the 2013 BRIT Awards yesterday (January 10) and explained to Digital Spy at the nominations ceremony that she will be leaving the country so won't be in the spotlight as much:

"You won't be seeing as much of me this year - I'll be out of the country. It's been a brilliant year but it's been a lot of work. To get these nominations feels lovely. "

"And I'm pleased to be handing [the Critics' Choice prize] over to Tom [Odell]. I actually asked if I had to hand the award back! I don't luckily!"

Sandé's U.S. tour is due to begins this week and will run until February 7, when the dates come to a close with a final concert in San Diego at the House of Blues.
